High School & Beyond

Describe the material:
I find that it's very helpful to pay attention to your child's interests. For example, my 2 year old loves airplanes and the moon. He has plenty of other interests, but just seems absolutely fascinated by space and flying. We go to the library or the bookstore and pick up many books on these subjects. Because he finds these topics so much fun, he learns that much easier. Now he's telling the kids he plays with that "the lunar module went to the moon". Another thing that is helpful, instead of purchasing hundreds of dollars of educational aids, is to use homemade props to explain things. For example, my husband took my son's basketball, taped pictures of my son on the basketball, turned the lights off and shined a flashlight on the ball as it spun, to teach him the cycle of night and day. When a child participates in the set up of the activity, they are drawn into the learning like magnets. Keep it simple. And don't spend lots of money!!!!!!

Skill(s) that the material seeks to develop:
Creativity
Critical Thinking
Problem Solving
Research Skills
