Q
We are in the process of looking for a school that specializes in learning differences in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. Our 16-year-old is floundering in his current high school. Is there a directory for this type of school?
A
I'd contact Resources for Children with Special Needs in New York City. They publish a directory that you might find helpful. You can reach them at 212-677-4650. Two other directories that could also be useful are Peterson's Private Secondary Schools (1-800-338-3282) and SchoolSearch Guide to Private Schools with Programs or Services for Students with Learning Disabilities (617-489-5785).
