Color Grouping

Directions

Ask your child to look at the things in his room, around the house, and outside and group them by the different colors. Which things are red, white, or green? Look to see how many shades of the same color you can locate. Ask your child what his favorite color is. Also ask which he thinks look good together. Finally, ask which colors are warm colors (reds, oranges, yellows) and which colors are cold (blues, greens, purples). It is also fun to carry around paint samples trying to match the color of the sample to various things in the home and outside. Cards of paint samples are available at most hardware and home supply stores.
