Description: Specifically, the faces seen in this contemporary comedy are those of African women. In a breezy, almost offhand fashion, the film examines the place of women in African society. Director Desire Ecare covers not only the big cities, but also many of the still-existing tribes. The hand-held photography brings a touch of verisimilitude to the script contrivances. Though clumsy and faltering at times, overall Faces of Women is well worth the time. Be advised, however, that the film contains nudity (not gratuitous) and suggestive situations.~ Hal Erickson, All Movie Guide
