LD Software for College

LD and ADD/ADHD Expert Advice from Eileen S. Marzola, Ed.D.

Q: I'm looking for learning disability software for college.

A: Take a look at Richard Wanderman's wonderful website on technology at http://www.ldresources.com. One of the many resources he discusses is the use of e-texts (electronic texts) available free of charge for most major books published more than 70 years ago. The link to e-texts is on the LDResources Home Page. The use of e-texts allows you to have these books read out loud to you directly from the computer. You can have access to more recent books and textbooks through the Recordings for the Blind and Dyslexic (http://www.rfbd.org). Richard, who is an extremely successful dyslexic himself, also recommends various tools for writing including the software Co-Writer and the portable keyboard, AlphaSmart. Both are discussed on his website.
