Grade-by-Grade Materials

Homeschooling Expert Advice from Isabel Shaw

Question: I am overwhelmed by all the materials suggested online for homeschooling my child. I cannot afford to buy them all. Is there a list of specific book titles to use for each subject, like: Math for Third-Graders, or Third-Grade Science, or History for Eight-Year-Olds?

Answer: You might want to try What Your 3rd Grader Needs to Know by E.D. Hirsch, Jr. Books to Build On, also by Hirsch, provides a grade-by-grade guide for each subject and will help you choose good-quality materials for your daughter.
