Social Studies Skill-Builders for Grades 2-6

Your second-grader will be peeking into the past and learning what it takes to be a good citizen. A child's view of the world expands in the third grade, with big doses of history, geography, economics, and civics. Prompt fourth-graders to ask questions about history, get comfortable working with maps, and examine and analyze economic concepts. In fifth grade, your child needs to demonstrate more sophistication before the subject area becomes quite formal and complex in sixth grade.
