Confusion About Scholarship Applications

College/Career Expert Advice from Carol Carter

Question: My niece is a high-school junior and I'm helping her research available scholarships. Some of the requirements say that you have to be a high-school senior and enrolled in college. She isn't sure what college she wants to go to yet -- it would be dependent on whether she gets any significant scholarships. I don't understand what they mean.

Answer: Schools offer scholarships for students who are in high school, students who are transferring, and working adults who are returning to school. Just have your daughter specify that she is in high school on the scholarship form.
