Careers for a History Major

College/Career Expert Advice from Carol Carter

Question: I love history. What jobs should I consider?

Answer: You can do almost anything with a degree in history. You can go into sales, market research, management, publishing, media, politics, law, teaching, and many other fields. The best thing about majoring in something like history is that it teaches you how to think, how to analyze, how to solve problems, and how things have happened over time. If you can combine this with great experience in organizations and through part-time jobs, you will be very valuable to any employer who hires you.
